## Difference between deltaG and deltaG*

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \Delta H^{\circ} - T \Delta S^{\circ}$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= -RT\ln K$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(products) - \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(reactants)$

Can someone explain the difference between deltaG and deltaG* naught

Also, for homework/tests, if I forget to write naught in the equations/answers then will I miss points?

delta Go is for when the reactants and products are all in their standard states. This means that pressure is 1 atm and temperature is 25oC (298 K).
So if any of the given conditions violate these conditions, don't use delta Go.
The general rule I use for homework and tests is that if the given values are delta Go values, then continue to use delta Go. Otherwise, just use delta G.
