why does gibbs free energy decreases more sharply with temperature for the gas phase of a substance than for the liquid phase?

A gas phase has a higher level of entropy because there are more arrangements for the molecules. On the other hand, for liquids, entropy is lower because the liquid cannot have more arrangements.

Because entropies are a measure of disorder, gases have higher entropies than liquids. Thus, changes in temperature are more reflected in the entropy change of gases than of liquids.
