## difference between gibbs and entropy

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \Delta H^{\circ} - T \Delta S^{\circ}$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= -RT\ln K$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(products) - \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(reactants)$

### Re: difference between gibbs and entropy

Gibbs free energy is a measure of the change in free energy of a reaction. In other words, it shows how much free energy is available to do nonexpansion work. Delta s is a measure of the change in entropy (relates to the possible number of states a system could be in).

Gibbs free energy, entropy, and enthalpy are all included in the equation deltaG = deltaH - TdeltaS, which uses the changes in enthalpy (deltaH) and entropy (deltaS) at constant temperature to calculate change in free energy (deltaG).

Hope this helped!

### Re: difference between gibbs and entropy

Gibbs free energy is the energy associated with a chemical reaction that can be used to do work.
Entropy, however, is the degree of disorder.

I hope this helps!

### Re: difference between gibbs and entropy

Gibbs free energy is the energy in the system that is free to do work. Entropy is the amount of disorder in the system. The change in free energy is affected by the change in entropy and the change in enthalpy.
