Thermodynamic Stability

Postby Alondra Olmos 4C » Wed Feb 27, 2019 12:34 am

Is it necessary to know the thermodynamic tendencies of a substance in regards to their stability and whether they are labile or nonlabile?

Nah I think that stuff's outside the syllabus. We just have to be able to identify whether a molecule stable based on its Gf.

Just know that a negative Gibbs Free Energy corresponds to a thermodynamically stable reaction and vice versa. Labile and nonlabile refer to reaction rates.
