11.15 6th Edition

I thought when Gibbs free energy was positive, the reaction is non spontaneous. If so, then why is the answer for this question saying spontaneous even though they gave a positive value for Gibbs free energy or is this just a misunderstanding on my part?

You're right in that it is nonspontaneous when producing I, but when producing I2, it is spontaneous because it is in the opposite direction.

What does it mean if Gibbs free energy is 0 exactly?
