Just to clarify, would the reaction Gibb's free energy be delta G and the standard Gibb's free energy be delta G naught. Conceptually, what is the difference?

Yes, that is correct. The only difference is that delta G naught represents the delta G at standard conditions (1 atm and 298 K). Therefore, as a reaction approaches equilibrium, delta G naught would not change because it still represents standard conditions, whereas delta G will change because it incorporates the changes that occur within the reaction.

Delta G naught is a constant for a given chemical equation (measured under standard conditions) while delta G changes as the reaction progresses and conditions change.

An equation that utilizes both is when Delta G naught is used to calculate delta G through Delta G= Delta G naught + RTlnQ. Delta G naught can be calculated by using
-RTlnK.

delta G naught is under standard conditions. if conditions are not standard, use delta G.

delta G for the reaction depends on what conditions the reaction is occurring at. When conditions are standard, we call the delta G delta G naught. I hope this helps!
