$\Delta G^{\circ}= -RT\ln K$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(products) - \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(reactants)$

How do you know when the reaction is spontaneous to form either reactants or products?

When your deltaG value is negative you will have a spontaneous reaction, when it is positive it will not be. When a reaction is exothermic it is spontaneous, and when is is endothermic it is not. Exothermic reactions have negative deltaG values and endothermic have positive deltaG values. Hope this helps !

If delta g is negative it will be spontaneous in the forward direction and if it is positive the reverse will be spontaneous

When delta g is negative, it is saying that there is available energy for the reaction to happen. So it is spontaneous.

You determine the value of delta G, and if it is negative, then it is spontaneous
