This equation is useful when there is a change in the temperature of a reaction or a change in the equilibrium constant of a reaction. Hope this helps!

Van't Hoff can be used to relate the equilibrium constant of a system to the enthalpy and entropy of the system through the gibbs free energy. In a situation where you are given two of those three values and are asked to find the other, you can use the Van't Hoff equation to do so. It can also be used to calculate the equilibrium constant at different temperatures if the enthalpy of formation is known.
