In what cases are we supposed to use the Van't Hoff equation ever deltaG=deltaH - TdeltaS?

I’m assuming it is when you want to find the change in gibb’s free energy, and you are given the change in enthalpy and change in entropy of the reaction. But I could be wrong.

We use the Van't hoff equation instead of deltaG=deltaH-TdeltaS when we are trying to relate the change in equilibrium constant, K, to the changing temperature of the chemical reaction and we are given the standard enthalpy change deltaH.
