T will only ever be given to you in Celsius or Kelvin, but for any calculations, you will almost certainly need to convert C to K in order to get the correct answer.

Even if T is given in Celsius, you can just add 273 to get Kelvin but yes you will need to use K in the actual calculation.

The only case where T does not necessarily have to be in kelvins is when you are calculating delta T. In that case, celcius would also work.

When doing calculations you should always convert temperature into kelvins. In general just keep track of the units at all times because some of the constants on the constants and equation sheets (such as specific heat capacity) are given in celsius so be mindful of that.
