I know on Test 2 we didn't need to know how to derive it, but do you think we will have to know how to derive it for the final?

If we covered the derivation in class, or it is mentioned specifically on the course outline (a few derivations are mentioned explicitly), they are "fair game", as Professor Lavelle likes to put it.

I would still know how to derive each of the equations as it might show up on the final.
