Any related calculations
Is the Outline 3's objective: "Understand the environmental impact of burning fossil fuels, and the use of alternative fuels as energy sources" supposed to be just solely knowing the alternatives or is this an underlying concept we are supposed to use for calculations?

I believe we need to know about the combustion reactions. Also theres a green box in chapter 4D.1 titled "WHAT HAS THIS TO DO WITH . . . THE ENVIRONMENT?"

The use of fuels as energy sources is useful in combustion like that of fuel in a Bunsen burner. These equations involve O2 as a reactant, like the combustion of hydrogen gas: 2H2(g) +O2(g)-> 2H2O(g). It is important to note that many of these reactions are irreversible, so when they are being written, there is only one arrow instead of the double arrow.
