Residual Entropy

Postby Jada Dawson » Fri Feb 11, 2022 4:56 pm

Hi,
Is there a way we could calculate the residual entropy at a constant temp and how would that be done?
Thank you

i believe in order to do this we would use the boltzmann equation: S=kb*lnW where S is the residual entropy, kb is the boltzmann constant, and W is the degeneracy (NOT THE WORK), which is basically the number of arrangements of acheiving a given energy state

I agree, and to add on, W is equal to the number of states ^ number of particles.
