Acidic vs. Basic Conditions

Postby Sheik Sahadat » Wed Mar 06, 2024 11:48 pm

Hello,
I was having some trouble going through the achieve homework last week when I was required to balance redox reactions in acidic and basic conditions. Could someone please explain what the difference between the two would be and how I would go about balancing? Thank you

In acidic solutions, you balance O using H2O and H using H+. In basic solutions, you balance O using H2O, H using H2O, and add OH- to the opposite side of where the electrons are.
