Oxidation Number of Diatomic Oxygen

Postby Junghyuk_Park_1I » Mon Feb 13, 2017 5:29 pm

Would the Oxidation number for diatomic Oxygen (O2) be 0 because it's a the common form molecule or -2 as in usual cases (besides in peroxide)?

O2 is in its most stable form as well, so know that the enthalpy of formation for O2 is also zero.
