Basic vs Acidic

Postby Payton Schwesinger 1J » Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:08 pm

How does it affect it differently if you are balancing a redox reaction in a basic solution, acidic solution, or neutral solution? What changes in the way you go about balancing the equation?

When we're balancing the solution for acidic, we use H+ and H2O, whereas in a basic solution, we balance the sides with OH0 and H2O.

Then you have to make sure you balance the charges as well with electrons!
