When balancing half-reactions, first balance all the elements except for hydrogen and oxygen. Then, balance any oxygens by adding the appropriate number of water molecules to the side opposite of the oxygens. Then, you balance the hydrogens from the water molecules by adding H+ ions to the side opposite of the water. Finally, balance the charge by adding electrons to the appropriate side.
