Galvanic cells

Postby Philipp_V_Dis1K » Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:15 pm

What happens in an electric current and cell when there is no transfer of extra ions from solution to solution?

Gradually, there will become an excess of ions built up on either side of the battery cell, which will impede current flow and stop the reaction.

The reaction will eventually stop because no more ions are flowing through.

The reaction will eventually stop when there are no more ions trading off.

that's what causes batteries to die
