Skeleton Equations

Postby Emily Kennedy 4L » Sun Feb 24, 2019 9:10 pm

When it asks for a skeleton equation how do we know to include water vs just showing the transfer of electrons?

I believe the skeletal equations are the ones first given, where the species are unbalanced completely. So, if it's asking for the skeletal equation, we wouldn't show any water or electron exchange, just the given reactants and products.

The skeleton equation doesn't include water or electrons. But water is used to balance the equation if there's an H or O on one side and not on the other.

skeleton equations don't involve e- or waters.
