Are there any tips on balancing redox reactions in acidic AND basic environment?

I second that, they can get confusing. Tips would be helpful!

the important thing is to balance any non hydrogen or oxygen first, and then balance oxygen with H20. Then balance the hydrogen with protons (H+). then balance the charges with electrons. once you add the equations back, you can cancel opposing charges in an acidic environment. There is an extra step for the basic environment, where you have to add OH- to balance the H+'s that were added. this website explains it well: https://chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves ... _Chemistry)/Electrochemistry/Redox_Chemistry/Balancing_Redox_reactions
