Balancing Redox Reactions

Is there a simple method used to balance redox reactions occurring in a basic solution? By that I mean is there a way of balancing redox reactions in a basic solution by reducing the amount of thought we have to put into such questions?

1. Write the two unbalanced equations for the oxidation and reduction half-reactions
2. Balance all the elements in the half-reactions except O and H
3. In a basic solution, balance O by using H2O; then balance H by adding H2O to the side of each half reaction that needs H and adding OH- to the other side
4. Balance the electric charges
5. Equalize the number of electrons in the two half-reactions by multiplying the half-reactions by appropriate coefficients
6. Add the two-half reactions together and balance the final equation

Balance the same as an acidic solution, just add an OH- to balance out every H+. If there are H+ and OH- on the same side, add them to form H20.

Balance all elements except oxygen and hydrogen. Then balance oxygens by adding h2o. then add twice as much h2o to the opposite Side of reaction. finally balance hydrogens by adding OH-

The easiest way to balance redox reactions in basic solution is following the same steps as if it were in acidic solution and in the very end at OH- to both sides to cancel the H+ ions and you will either be left with water or OH-
