Potential Difference is work over charge. Voltage would be an example of potential difference.

I'll start with a basic definition: Potential difference is the amount of work energy required to move an electric charge from one point to another (measured in volts).

The cell potential, is the measure of the potential difference between two electrochem 1/2 cells. Potential difference is caused by the ability of electrons to flow from one 1/2 cell to the other. Electrons have the ability to move between electrodes because the reaction occurring is a redox reaction.

A potential difference is the amount of energy required to change the electrical charge of an object.
