Can someone explain where the reduction half reaction is for this prob?

Well we know that Cl2 is both the reduced and oxidized form and we have the oxidized form so therfore the reduced form must be
Cl2 + 1e--->Cl-

We know that Cl2 both oxidizes and reduces, so

How are we to assume that it is both the reduced and oxidized form?

[Cl][/2] is both reduced and oxidized, since the oxidized form is given, we need to find the reduced form.
