Wavelength

Postby Dalayna Ortiz 1F » Thu Dec 05, 2024 11:21 pm

When looking at a picture of wavelengths, how do you distinguish what wavelength has higher frequency and a higher amplitude?

Hi, Look for waves that are more tightly packed together (shorter distance between the peaks). These represent higher frequency.
Amplitude is the height of the wave from its baseline to the peak. You should look for waves that are taller (greater vertical distance between the baseline and the peak). This represent higher amplitude.

Hi!

You can distinguish the frequency of a wavelength by looking at the distance between each peak of a wave. The less distance there is between each peak, the higher the frequency. When it comes to amplitude, the higher the peak is from the baseline, the greater the amplitude of the wavelength.
