Wave functions

How do wave functions provide information on chemical bonding(Ionic, Covalent, Hydrogen)?

Hi! So the wave function gives us the probability of finding an electron in a specific state and location within an atom. Schrödingers equation specifies three quantum numbers (n, l, and ml) providing information about electron activity.

In relation to bonding, I don't think we need to know that far into the wave function but by analyzing changes in the wave function and movement of electrons, one can analyze many things including the rearrangement of atoms and electrons to form new chemical bonds.
