How to calculate the number of photons required

Postby 105561735 » Sun Dec 10, 2023 10:56 am

Hello,

When i was going over my homework assignments, I realized I do not know how to calculate the number of photons required to absorb a particular number of joules of heat. What do i need to know in order to calculate the number of photons absorbed

In order to calculate the number of photons required to absorb a particular number of joules of heat, you must first find the energy of the photons, which can be done by using the formula E=hv, where E is the energy of the photon in joules, v is the frequency of the photon, and h is Plank's constant. Then just divide the number of joules of heat needed by the energy of each photon to get the number of photons needed.
