### C=λV units question

When you are solving for wavelength with a known frequency (in Hz), and a known speed (3.00 * 10^8 m.s-1), what unit do you get for wavelength? Nm or m?

The wavelength will be in meters. Rearranging the equation for wavelength, λ=c/v. Since c is in m/s and the frequency is in Hz (which is s^-1 or 1/s), the s will cancel out, leaving you with m.

When you solve for wavelength and use dimensional analysis, you should end up with meters. I think most wavelengths are measured in nm by the electromagnetic spectrum so if you want to compare your answer to other wavelengths converting it is probably the best way to go!

### Re: C=λV units question

Wavelength must always be calculated or used in a calculation in meters.
