Protons & neutrons

Postby Johana Jeon 1A » Sun Jul 02, 2017 5:57 pm

In 1.37: Protons and neutrons have nearly the same mass. How different are their wavelengths? Calculate the wavelength of each particle when traveling at 2.75 x 10^5 ms^-1 in a particle accelerator and report the difference as a percentage of the wavelength of the neutron.

In 1.41: What is the velocity of a neutron of wavelength 100. pm?

For problems like this, will we be provided for the #s of protons and neutrons?
Thank you

Dr. Lavelle specified during lecture on Friday that we would be given equations so I think he would give us the numbers. I would ask him during lecture tomorrow just to be sure.
