how do you know which radiation corresponds to which frequency? Will we have to know that for the test?

For the test I'm pretty sure you just have to know that from 400-700nm is visible light. Below 400nm is UV light and above 700nm is infrared. Extremely high freq. can be implied that it is x-rays or gamma-rays, while extremely low freq. are micowaves or radio waves. It is not necessary to memorize the wavelengths of all magnetic radiation.

The different frequencies of visible light also determine the color of the visible light :) I think Professor Lavelle mentioned that we did not have to know the specific wavelength for each color, but it would be good to know that 700 nm is red light and 400 nm is violet light.
