wavelength description

In Mondays lecture Dr. Lavelle demonstrated the figure of the electric field and described what a wavelength was considered however, I am still confused as to what does amplitude mean in this context is it the height of the wavelength or...?

From what I understood during the lecture the amplitude of a wavelength represents its height.

In the textbook amplitude is defined as the height of the wave above the center line. So when you use the peak-to-peak distance you would count the highest point, or the amplitude.

Amplitude is the height of the wave, wavelength is the distance from crest to crest or trough to trough

The amplitude of a wave is its height, but I also remember Dr. Lavelle saying how as the amplitude increases then the energy or intensity of the wave also increases. He compared it to a wave at the beach saying that a taller wave will be more powerful than a shorter wave.

The amplitude of a wave is defined as its height from the center line. The amplitude is very important in determining the energy of the wave because the larger the amplitude the higher the levels of energy will be as a result.

According to the book, the amplitude is the height of the wave above the center line. Similar to the figure that Lavelle drew in class, where the amplitude was the height of the wavelength. The wave is characterized by its amplitude and wavelength.

I vaguely remember what he said but he mentioned something about there being three peaks vs four peaks in a wavelength when reading the graph but that confused me as well? How exactly do you see how many there are (he said he had this on a final as an easy question but many students got it incorrect).

By definition, amplitude is the height of the wave above the center line. So, when given a wave on an axis, you can visualize its amplitude by finding the center of the wave and measuring how high the wave's peak reaches, which would be your amplitude.
