How do I use Planck's constant?

I am reviewing the photoelectric effect and the behavior of light is described as photons but I am unsure where to use Planck's constant in an equation all I know is that Planck's constant is 6.63x10^-34 J*sec
Anyone mind telling me where to go from here I am just feeling confused, Thank you.

In the equation for the energy per photon, E=hv, h is Planck's constant and it's multiplied by frequency (v). I hope that helps!

Planck's constant is used in the equation E=hv where E is the amount of energy, h is Planck's Constant, and v is the frequency of the wave.

When is planck's constant applicable though? Like when would I use it to answer a question?

Planck's constant is used to calculate the energy of one photon in a wavelength. (Dr. Lavelle showed us an example where we use Planck's constant in Friday's lecture.)
