### Photoelectric Effect

Why was it important for scientists to undergo this experiment? What questions led to their conclusion and what real contribution did they expect to make with their initial hypothesis?

To answer your question , the photoelectric experiment was very important as it is used now to determine electron energy levels in matter, and it was the stepping stones for understanding the quantum characteristics of light and electrons. This also showed that electrons are freed from an object due to the amout of photons striking a material, and it is not due to the frequency of photons. This led to the understanding of wave-particle duality.
