frequency and wavelength

Postby Alondra Juarez section 1E » Sun Apr 22, 2018 1:11 pm

What is the relationship between frequency and wavelength how does one affect the other?

the speed of light equals the frequency times the wavelength for electromagnetic radiation. If the wavelength becomes larger, the frequency must become smaller and vice versa so that the product of the two can always equal approximately 3.00 x 10^8

The first thing you need to know is that all electromagnetic radiation, including light, follows the equation C=frequency x wavelength, where C is the constant, that is the speed of light.(Proper estimated value 3E8)

So, whatever it happens, C is never changing. Always be equal to 3E8
Acoording to the equation then, higher the wavelength, shorter the frequency. vice versa

The equation most frequently used with it is the product of frequency and wavelength equaling the speed of light (3*10^8). Wavelength and frequency have an inverse relationship meaning that an increase in wavelength leads to a decrease in frequency and an increase in frequency leads to a decrease in wavelength. Hope this helped! :)

Frequency and Wavelength have an inverse relationship: the higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength; the shorter the frequency, the longer the wavelength.

Basically, long wavelengths have low frequencies while short wavelengths have high frequencies.
