### Test 2 and Wavelengths/ Frequencies Table

Do we need to memorize the wavelengths and frequencies of different types of electromagnetic radiation (i.e. that 400 nm corresponds with violet visible light etc.) or will we be given a table with the amounts on the test?

I think we should know that generally, wavelengths of 400nm-700nm are visible light/belong to the Balmer series, as there were some homework questions like that. However, I don't think we need to memorize the wavelengths corresponding to each color of light, or other details like that. Also, we should know that the Balmer series is visible light, where n1=2, while for the Lyman series, which is Ultraviolet lines, n1=1.

You should be familiar with the order and the rough wavelength numbers of the different electromagnetic waves. This will also help a lot for your future 14 series courses

I would like to know this as well. I am also wondering if anyone knows which formulas / values we will need to know for the test? I know some were listed on the first one, but wanted to see which would be good to memorize.
