Problem 1.69

Postby ZachMoore1C » Wed May 09, 2018 12:43 pm

In problem 1.69 we are asked to identify which laser would be best to simulate the laser that the agents are trying to bypass. What steps would you take to go about identifying that?

Because we are given the work energy in eV so converting it to Joules and calculating for its frequency is helpful. We know that the laser the secret agents want to use is going to have the same or higher frequency (calculate frequency for both lasers to figure out which one should be used). After figuring out which laser to use, just calculate the energy produced from the laser and subtract the threshold energy to get the kinetic energy of the electrons emitted. Hope this helps.
