### Formula for energy of a photon

Where in the book (7th ed.) can I find the formula for calculating energy of a photon? A question requires you to use it but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

i dont have the seventh edition, but the energy of a photon = h (Planck's constant)* v (frequency)

The equation can be found on page 13 it falls under Topic 1B Quantum Theory and in the sub section 1B.1 Radiation, Quanta, and Photons

### Re: Formula for energy of a photon

Hi!

This is the formula:

Energy per photon = hv

Where h is Planck's constant of 6.63 x 10^-34
and v is the frequency (in Hertz)

Hope this helps :)

However, v is actually "mu" not v.
