### Oscillation of the Electric and Magnetic Field

How does the oscillation of the electric and magnetic fields relate to the properties of light? Does the oscillation determine the energy of light/photons? Does light only relate to the electromagnetic spectrum?

Oscillations of the electric and magnetic field are the wave that light travels in. The oscillation can be measured by using amplitude and wavelength.

Amplitude: height up and down of the peak from the middle (see figure 1.7) can be squared to find the intensity of the light (radiation)
Wavelength (of radiation): distance between peaks, is what determines the lights placement on the spectrum

The light that humans can see is a form of electromagnetic radiation but, there are forms of electromagnetic radiation that we can't see that lay on the spectrum.
