### Visible Light Spectrum

Are we supposed to memorize the visible light spectrum? I know the general idea that as wavelength increases energy decreases and vice versa, but are we supposed to know the numbers attached to the entire spectrum?

Hi! I know that we should know that 400 nm is about violet and 700 nm is about red, but I don't think we need to be able to match color to wavelength exactly.

I doubt we would have to know specific numbers associated with colors, just know that 700 nm is red and 400 nm is violet.
Red has a long wavelength and low frequency, and violet has a short wavelength and high frequency.

Yes, what the two above have mentioned is correct. Also, Lavelle said in lecture that we will be mostly focusing on ultraviolet rays, visible light, and infrared rays in class so we don't have to worry about the others too much.
