Wave Model

Does anyone know what we should specifically know about electromagnetic radiation/the wave model? I think I may be overthinking it.

Re: Wave Model

I would just understand the facts that came from the experiment. you should probably know what is in the textbook.

I agree ^ the textbook has whatever is necessary to know.

Re: Wave Model

Hello!

Here are the main Ideas:

Light is electromagnetic radiation (wave of electric and magnetic fields)

When light is passed through a crystal, a diffraction pattern arises

Speed of light in a vacuum (c): 3.00 x 108 ms-1

Frequency (v)
How many cycles per second
Hertz (Hz)
1Hz = 1s-1
Determines the position in the Electromagnetic Spectrum

Wavelength (ƛ)
The peak to peak distance (measures in meters)
C = ƛv = 3.00 x 108 ms-1

I would also memorize the electromagnetic spectrum.

Hope this helps!
