### Finding energy

If you are given the number of photons produced (per second) and the wavelength of the light, how would you find how much energy (in joules) is produced as radiation at that wavelength? (referring to 1.59 in the 6th edition)

### Re: Finding energy

The energy produced by each photon is given by the equation E=hv, and we also know v=c/λ, so we get E=hc/λ. Then you just multiply E by the number of photons to get the total energy produced by the radiation in one second.
