What are the equations we should memorize for Test 2?

They give us the sheet with all of the basic equations on it, but you should memorize the variations of the equations so that the test goes faster for yourself!

Most of the equations that we need to know for Test 2 are on the equations sheet in the front page of the test. But you should probably know what they are used for, what the variables represent, and how to manipulate them.

I think you should be familiar with them, but don't try too hard to memorize them. I would recommend knowing the E of photon formula, De Broglie Equation, the Uncertainty Principle, and the Photoelectric effect.

My TA said most of the equations we need will be given to us on the front page of the test.

For convenience and just to be safe, I would memorize:
(frequency)(wavelength) = c (speed of light)
Rydberg (or at least remember the Balmer series corresponds to the visible region and Lyman to the UV region)
E = hv
Ek = hv - work function
de Broglie: wavelength = h/mv or h/p
Heisenberg: (delta p)(delta x) >= h/4pi

I think that most equations will be on the cover sheet of the test, but equations that are specifically tied to content in 'The Quantum World' that we are supposed to memorize and/or derive are not.

I believe most equations that you need will be given. However, I heard from a TA that you should memorize equations utilizing the Rydberg constant.

I believe we will be given the same first sheet with many equations and constants as we were given during the first test.

In my last discussion we went over equations that described the energy of a photon, de Broglie's equation, the uncertainty principle equation, photoelectric effect, and the rydberg equation. It would probably help to learn these equations for the test, but according to the link that someone posted above all those equations are on the equation sheet that is given on the test.

My TA basically went over a lot of what is covered in chapter one, stating that that is what the test will be on mainly.
which was concepts of wavelength, frequency, energy, the photoelectric effect, and quantum numbers. I think if you review these concepts and their equations you should be okay for the exam.

I'd say review/practice equations that are related to velocity and kinetic energy.

i think the most important thing to know is what each equations is associated with and the keywords problems have that let you know what formula to use, and the units that go with each part of the equations so your answer has the correct units at the end
