Unit of Wavelength Amplitude

I know that the unit of frequency when looking at the oscillation of an electromagnetic wave is called a hertz. However, is there a unit for when looking at the amplitude/height of the wave?

Re: Unit of Wavelength Amplitude

Hello,

The unit for amplitude of wavelength is meters (m). This explains why the unit for speed of light is meters per second (m/s): the equation is c= λv, and λ is m, and v is hertz (1/s), so the speed of light is m/s.

Hope this helps!

Re: Unit of Wavelength Amplitude

To clarify, we are not very interested in the amplitude/height of waves, although this would probably be measured in meters. We are more concerned with the frequency (cycles per second) and wavelength (the distance between peaks, in meters) aka lambda.
