### Photon Model

I'm having a hard time conceptualizing what a photon is. Lavelle described them as "packets" of energy, but they also travel in waves, and each photon interacts with one electron?

I like to think of them as little pieces of an overall bigger wave. It's like if you are looking at a group of birds flying the sky, you see the overall shape of them but that is made of each bird. Photons are like that as they form this overall wave but when it comes to the photoelectric test they act as an individual and not a wave.

### Re: Photon Model

Light behaves as both a wave and a particle. Those particles are represented as photons.

### Re: Photon Model

I like to think of photons like beads on a necklace or string, and each bead is a photon.
