EM Spectrum

Are we responsible for knowing the regions (and their respective wavelengths) of the EM spectrum? Or we given them during an exam?

I think you might need to know ranges for visible light wavelengths (others that are longer/ shorter than visible) and maybe the different series (lyman, balmer, etc)

I don't think it's necessary to memorize every specific wavelength and its regions for the exams, but I would recommend knowing just in general that infrared radiation has the longest wavelengths and that UV radiation has the shortest wavelengths. Also, since Lavelle mentioned that visible light is in the 400nm - 700nm region, I would keep that in mind as well. For any other specific wavelength, I would think that Lavelle would provide them in the problems.

I think you need to know which series corresponds to which energy level and region (UV, infrared, etc). It might help to go over wavelengths of some of the regions as well.
