memorizing electromagnetic spectrum

do we need to memorize the electromagnetic spectrum, or will this be given to us for our exams?

Identifing the different regions is expected. This was covered in class.

A good mnemonic to remember them is Roman Men Invented Very Unusual X-Ray Guns, which stands for radio, micro, infrared, visible, UV, x-ray, and gamma rays.

Yes - you have to know it. There are lots of mnemonics and songs to help you memorize it. Youtube and google are good resources for resources to memorize them. If you also use the information a lot, you will memorize it quickly.
