Chemistry Community Points

Postby Ruth Rosales 3D » Sun Oct 18, 2020 8:46 pm

Do comments count towards the 5 points/posts we are supposed to do weekly? I've been counting them as part of mine.... :/

Hi Ruth! Yes comments count as chemistry community points, as long as they are relevant to what we are learning in class. Hope that helps!

Yes, comments do count towards the 5 posts we are supposed to do weekly as long as they are relevant. Don't be afraid to double-check with the professor or TA through email or during your discussion time. The professor also sent out an email with more description on what he wants for the 5 posts on chemistry community. There is a link in the email where it gives a better description of what he wants.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

So technically, this reply comment wouldn't count?
I just want to verify, I don't accidentally want to miss easy points for the class. Thank you.

I believe your comment counts, but as far as the email somebody else mentioned goes you will want to make sure you are posting your questions in the right topic sections to get points for your posts.

On the Weekly Online Discussion page, it states that any course related post counts as 1 point - that they can be "a comment, an answer, general discussion, assisting other students, etc." So, I think that to seek out general clarifications such as this would count. But yes, I would email or reach out during discussion sections to be sure.

I believe this comment would count as a point. You're still technically helping another student with questions regarding the class.
What would be the due date for the week's 5 points? 11:59 on Sundays?

Hi! Yes, questions, comments, and replies are all counted as points. You need at least 5 of any of the three by Sunday at 11:59.

Yes, comments, questions, and replies count as a point for the chemistry community participation and you have to post five each week.

If we forget about the weeks chemistry community participation should we email a TA? I missed my points but I still want to make them up. Also yes I believe responding to someone's general question counts as participation
