The homework textbook problems are awesome practice for the midterm!! Everyone that i know that has taken this class told me that homework problems always show up on the exams (and Lavelle mentioned it as well), and the exam problems follow the same format as many homework problems. Making sure you have all the concepts down for each section is really good help! Also make sure to know you Si units and EM spectrum!

I definitely agree. The workbook problems are a great practice. I also rewatched some of the video modules on Dr. Lavelle's website on topics I did not really understand. They also help!

Lavelle says in the syllabus that doing the textbook problems, doing the Sapling homework, and completing all the modules on his website should prepare you well for the midterm.

I also would second doing the homework problems if nothing else, because Lavelle has said those questions will be put on exams. But other than that reviewing the audio-visual modules can help really cement in certain topics, along with doing the UA worksheets from step-up sessions as extra practice.

I am doing the modules and the textbook problems. When doing the textbook problems, I am paying close attention to things that confuse me and going over them.

Re: How are you guys studying for the midterm?
To study for this midterm, I'm focusing on completing/reviewing the audio-visual focus modules and textbook problems, with an emphasis on understanding the concepts that go behind the individual problems.

About when do you guys start studying? Do you tend to grind a week or few days before or do you do a little per day from the beginning?

How are you able not to overload yourself during a study session? I don't know when to stop and I feel that I take too much information all at one.

video modules, retake the module tests and try to get the questions rights without referencing your notes too much, and then text book problems!

Re: How are you guys studying for the midterm?
For me I usually do a lot of practice problems the days before and then make sure to also go over my notes before the test. I also think its important that we know the formulas and units within the formulas so we can check our answers/work on the test.

Re: How are you guys studying for the midterm?
I usually make sure I can do all of the homework problems up until now because sometimes I forget some of the concepts that we went over in the beginning of the year, and I also go to step-up and workshop sessions to ask any questions I have and get more practice.

Re: How are you guys studying for the midterm?
I really like to just go through my notes and collect all the equations we learned. Then I write out an equation sheet where I identify each part of the equation, explain its significance and when it is used, and then try and do one example problem with it. I find it really helpful because it prepares you for most of the types of problems they'll probably throw out way.

Honestly, I have been going through the module videos again and Khan Academy really helps too.

I tend to look over my notes, rewatch lectures and most importantly do as many module problems/ textbook problems.

I thought the modules on his website were super helpful because there are concept questions too!
