What would be the relationship between frequency and amplitude?

hi! to my knowledge, there isn't a relationship in which frequency is dependent on amplitude, or vice versa. the relationship we are more concerned with in studying light is between frequency and wavelength.

There is no relationship between frequency and amplitude since you could have a small amplitude but still a high frequency. i think you talking about energy. If increase frequency it leads to an increase in energy as shown by the photoelectric effect.

The frequency and amplitude are independent of each other. Frequency is the cycles per sec and amplitude is how large the wave is. I think if anything they would be inversely related.

There really is not a set in stone relationship between the two because I believe that amp is related to intensity so there really is not a clear connection between the two.

I like to use the analogy of an image in a word document (of the wave in question, if it helps) so as to better understand how changes in one parameter will affect the others related to the same wave. For example, you can think of changes in amplitude to be like strecthing or shrinking the vertical aspect only of an image. When you do this, the image does change in its appearance, signifying there WAS an effect, however modifying the "height" of an image does nothing to the "width" of the image. The same can be said about frequency and amplitude. There is no relationship where changes in one parameter will occur when the other is changed.

I agree with the responses above. There isn’t a relationship between amplitude and frequency, but there is an inverse relationship between frequency and wavelength.
