Equation sheet

Postby EriMizuguchi2K » Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:00 pm

Hi,

Will we be getting an equation sheet for all the equations relating to light and with the constants that we need to use?

I don't think we will be getting a sheet. I recommend you printing one out before the test as my TA recommended. Here is the link he gave us: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-content/supporting-files/Chem14A/constants_equations.pdf

The equation sheet can also be found on Dr. Lavelle's website!

The Lavelle-endorsed sheet was posted up there. I'm not sure if that's that's his example of a sheet or if we can only use that file.

I also think that some problems will provide the equations and constants necessary to find the answer.

I think we can print it out from the Dr. Lavelle's website, and some problems might give us some equations/constants anyway.

Like everyone already said, on Dr. Lavelle's website. I just wanted to give a big thank you for this question and answers because I didn't even know that was there and was having a hard time keep track of all the equations. Thank you all again!

My TA mentioned in our discussion section that we're supposed to print the formula sheet from the class website and bring that with us to the midterm. Anything that we need on the midterm that is not on the sheet will be given on the test.

Hello! My TA told us in discussion last week that we need to print out our own periodic table and formula sheet for tests. The formula sheet is this link: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... ations.pdf. And the periodic table is this link: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... _IUPAC.pdf.

Thank you so much! In the lecture where Dr. Lavelle talked about Wave Properties of Electrons, he used the mass of an electron in a De Broglie wavelength example. I was confused because I didn't remember him telling us what the mass of an electron was, but then realized it was on the equation sheet.

Are we allowed to include annotations on the constants and equations sheet and the periodic table for us to use during the midterm?

Hello! We are able to use an equation sheet on the exam, but we have to print it out ourselves. Hope this helps.

The equation sheet, as well as a periodic table, are available on Dr. Lavelle's website. Our TA said these must be printed out to be used during the exams if needed.

Just print out the equation sheet on Lavelle's website! It has all the equations we'll need, including the values of important constants.

The equation sheet is provided, there's a link on his website called "midterm 1 information" that has all the prep that you need for the midterm.

you can find the equation sheet on Dr. Lavelles Chem14A website as well as the periodic table (both of which he has told us to print out and bring)
