Achieve #4

Postby 805752034 » Sun Oct 17, 2021 11:26 am

I had a quick question. What value should we use for "c" or the speed of light. What does Dr. Lavelle suggest?

In lectures we have been using c = 3.0 x 10^8 m/s. On the constants and equations sheet, it is listed that c = 2.99792 x 10^8 m/s. I think using either values should be fine as long as you round off correctly at the end.

I guess it depends on the number of sig figs you need in your answer. I'm not sure what Dr. Lavelle suggests but I would personally base it off of the least amount of sig figs present in your givens, and use that same amount of sig figs in the constant. It shouldn't matter either way, though.
